Join Us For Our Next Workshop - 15th July 2018
Our workshop is designed to work on the heart chakra and physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects related to this chakra. We will layer different spiritually uplifting modalities to achieve a more pronounced effect. Each session is designed to build on the others. We have developed these modalities to compliment each other and take participants on a profound inner journey. By the end of the day, we hope you will feel a beautiful, serene sense of inner calm and expansion into the heart space.
We will focus on the heart chakra through restorative and stretching yoga postures, rejuvenating breathing techniques, releasing chanting practices, Cacao and cleansing and healing sound therapy techniques. We hope you will feel an emotional release and sense of rejuvenation.
Heart Opening Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga Class with Gong Bath
We will start with gentle and restorative yoga poses designed to relax and expand the heart space. Subtle gong sounds will complement the yoga, as you move the gong will encourage the body and mind to relax and let-go, energy flow will also be enhanced to the stretched areas of the body. Something you will no doubt feel happening! This session is suitable for all levels of yoga experience - variations will be offered for those new to yoga, or with more experience.
Pranayama (yogic exercises - here in the form of breathing to extend life force) Mantra Chanting and meditation.
Session two starts with Pranayama - yogic breathing techniques designed to calm the body and mind. We were taught these techniques during our yoga teacher training in India. In traditional yogic teaching, the breat his used to enhance the energy generated while in yoga postures (asanas). You should find these techniques very complimentary to the proceeding yoga class.
Following the Pranayama we will encourage you to take part in Sanskrit Mantra chanting - chanting is optional (feel free to listen or join in!)
There are many benefits to chanting, by working as a group we can create a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, you may feel increased energy outside and within. Mantra chanting also helps the mind to relax as it gives our often overactive mind a job to do, while we reach a meditative state. On top of these benefits, learning to use our voice through mantra also encourages us to express the beautiful qualities of the heart. This session is suitable for everyone as we will share techniques to get you started.
We will finish with a meditation designed to help you absorb the energy we have created.
Cacao, Guided Meditation and Gong Bath Session
The afternoon session will combine the benefits of a cacao ceremony with a gong bath, facilitating feelings of relaxation and heart-opening. This session can help you release anything that no longer serves you, as well as cleansing and purifying your body and mind, and realigning you with your true self.
In our cacao ceremonies, we use quality raw fair trade ceremonial cacao. The Cacao is grown organically and traditionally by the Ashaninka Tribe in central Peru for ceremony and heart opening.
Cacao (chocolate in its raw form) is a powerful plant medicine, used in sacred ceremonies over South and Central America for thousands of years. The cacao tree originated in Central America and parts of Mexico and was consumed by pre-Columbian cultures, including the Mayans, in spiritual ceremonies. It is an amazing tool for gently opening up the heart and reconnecting us with our highest self, opening us to hearing our heart's messages. It can also be used as an effective tool for healing heart-related emotional issues, and opening oneself to the feelings of love, self-love, compassion, and connection. Cacao can help us "switch" from the distractions and worries of the outside world, going deeper inside, rediscovering one's true self and helping the healing of past and present issues, as well as re-aligning with our true self.
Cacao has many documented health benefits. It is a rich source of antioxidants, including flavanoids, which are believed to have an anti-aging effect, it can help cardiovascular health, and improve blood supply to the brain, facilitating learning and memory. Cacao might also help reduce blood pressure. One note, Cacao is a stimulant, please see our health warnings below.
Group sharing is part of the Cacao experience, sharing is always optional but encouraged. Most of us experience similar issues in our quest for inner growth, by sharing our challenges and solutions to these challenges, we can help each other grow. For many attending this session will offer a rare opportunity to enjoy the company of like-minded people and perhaps make some new friends.
At the end of the session, there will be time to ask questions, talk with Gary and Olga on a private basis and have a chat over a cup of free organic herbal tea.
